  [S101] Other Researchers - Michael Sinclair-Jones. I was told husbands with common names such as Jones or Smith often combined them with that of a wife to prevent inbreeding among children in small communities. I have a separate document that refers to William's service in the Welsh Fusiliers and that he was commended for loyal service during the Indian Mutiny (1857). They would have been a garrison family, as were many of that era, and the soldiers may have been away from their wives and children for extended periods of time.
