  [S7] BMD - British Library, Marriage, N2/19/28. Both described as Indo Britons [S11] Personal Knowledge. In her marriage certificate she (and her husband) are given as Indo Britons. She is my 3xgreat grandmother on the maternal line - my mtDNA is haplogroup M30B which confirms that. Haplogroup M was one of two branches that split off when humans came out of Africa 60,000 years ago. Group M followed the coast and spread out into southern and eastern Asia. mtDNA is inherited from the mother unchanged over the generations. [S7] BMD - British Library, Burial, N2/26/96. Was 28 years old, buried with her newborn baby. It looks as if the cause of death was dysentery but very hard to read. [S7] BMD - British Library, Marriage, N2/19/28. Both described as Indo Britons. Henry is 'Browen' - neither Browne nor Bowen!The 'Asiatic Journal and Monthly Miscellany' however gives him as Bowen.
