Notes - Was not at fathers house in 1841. The only possible census record I found was a basket maker living with a family in Coventry.

I have the CD of Northants Marriages. by License. Robert is of Deddington, Oxford (at university?), and Mary Rebecca is outside the parish of St James. In the census she is shown as born out of the area and her parents were born in Oxford, so presumably he met her there. - [S1] Certificate, Marriage, 1852 Whitechapel, vol 1c p788.
They both are resident in the Tower Liberty (which was not in London or Middlesex - hence 'liberty'). But why would they be here is they were both born in Brackley? Her father John was an Innkeeper, his father Robert a Solicitor, Edward a farmer - all very local occupations. However they must have gone to Iowa soon after, since the first child was born there in 1855, so maybe they were on their way.
