  Chief of Staff, HEH The Nizam's Army, a strong supporter of the St Georges Community and Church, serving on both church and school commissions. He was actually baptised Walter Thompson Poyntz according to the OIOC record. It has the note 'privately' above the baptism date - presumably this was done at home instead of church.. Present at the great Delhi Durbar, in his capacity of Lieutenant and Qtr Master HH the Nizam's Artillery.

  [S89] Other Researchers - Yasmin Chamarette. Was christened Walter Thompson Poyntz. She gives a theory for why they swapped the names around for her grandfather Garnet/Mervyn. [S7] BMD - British Library, N2 vol 47 p80, Baptism. Actually baptised Walter Thompson Poyntz. It has note 'privately' above the baptism date. The place given is Chudderghaut Cochin Coonsor(?), which is at least two widely separate places. I have assumed Chaderghat arbitrarily. [S21] Other Researchers - Chris Van de Byl. I think this information is from Phyllis Chamarette. [S7] BMD - British Library, N/1/616/164 found by Denise. (ret.) When she married Thompson she was a widow, by name Bayley. Place is spelt Chudderghat.
