  He signed the marriage certificate, so he could write - Sarah used a cross. In the 1841 Census it seems that David is a lodger with the Boosey family - note that William Lindsell (also a fruiterer) is lodging there too. David's son David married Harriet Lindsell. His age is given as 15 when he would have been 18, but it's the rounded down 1841 census. In the 1851 Census there is only one David Boyton in the right place, with age correct for IGI christening date. And his wife is Sarah (though her birthplace is given as Shoreditch), and son David is the correct age.

  [S49] LDS - International Genealogical Index. [S1] Certificate, Death, vol 4a 255. He died of Phthisis, 12 months, which is consumption or TB. He was a Hawker, and only 32 years old. The informant was Elizabeth Linsell (who made her mark) so probably his wife Sarah was already ill - she died 2 years later, also of TB.
