Her past is a bit hazy as both her parents died when she was young and she was looked after by a Miss Sylvester, a former lady's maid to Mrs. Disraeli wife of the Prime Minister, somewhere in London. Minnie was nursemaid to Lady Diana Manners (try a Wikipedia search....a very interesting woman) who later married Duff Cooper but how she got the position and how and where she met Albert Edward is a mystery. Albert and Minnie had a second child who died not long after a very difficult birth after which Minnie refused to have sex again - this might partly explain why Albert took a second "wife".
