28lbs!!!!!
SERIOUS and FATAL ACCIDENT-
On SATURDAY 22nd instant, when the LUDLOW and BIRMINGHAM mail had reached TENBURY and the wheel horses were being taken from the coach, they suddenly took fright, (the man who was engaged in unfastening them, being at the time between them,) and started at a speedy rate over the TEME bridge;when on the other side the poor man whose name is WORRALL, and who has been servant at the hotel for more than 20 years, being unable to unfasten the only trace that was fastened to the coach fell down and the coach passed over him. He was immediately conveyed home and Messrs. Davis and Sweet were promptly in attendance, but he was so severely hurt, although he had the timely aid and skill of the medical men, he shortly expired. There were other parties on the coach_one female, who was outside, had the presence of mind to leap off, and we are glad to report that she was unhurt. The horses were not captured till they arrived more than half-way up the street. The excitement manifested by all who witnessed the catastrophe was most appalling. We sincerely hope this will be a warning to coach proprietors, and drivers, in future, to have som one at the head of the horses, to take care of them, during the time they are taken from the coach.
