John Weston's letter to his son John in India 1877, as reproduced in Newton's book. Kundee 27th April, 1877 My Dear Johnny, When your mother joins me with the little ones I trust to be again comfortable and happy after nearly five years of a solitary life by myself. I am longing for your dear motherto come out here, for I am really tire of leading such a lonely life. You must realise Johnny that none of us ever forget you. Stick hard to your books and I have no fear but that you will do well. It is really best for you to remain in Madras for the present. It is a great satisfaction to your mother and myself to know that you are with good godfearing people like Mr. and Mrs. Tindale. Remember us all to them. Believe me my dear boy Ever your affectionate father, John Weston
